Basunguent® Ointment Base
Basunguent® ointment base with its hydrophobic main components of white petrolatum, thick liquid paraffin, peanut oil, and hard paraffin serves as a base for the self-production of ointments and creams. By adding lanolin alcohols, cetylstearyl alcohol, this base mixture is suitable for the production of water-absorbing ointments and emulsions. Lanolin alcohol has skin-caring, refatting, and emulsifying properties and positively affects the skin's protective barrier. Applications: Base for ointments and creams Usage: As a base for magistral prescriptions. For the production of fatty ointments or emulsion ointments. Composition: White petrolatum, thick liquid paraffin, peanut oil, hydrogenated peanut oil, cetylstearyl alcohol, lanolin alcohols, hard paraffin, butylated hydroxyanisole, citric acid monohydrate Notes: When processing Basunguent®, the following must be observed: In manual or machine processing into an emulsion ointment, both the ointment base and the liquid phase must have a temperature of at least 50°C. Basunguent® is presented, and the aqueous phase is added slowly in a thin stream while stirring continuously. It is important to ensure that the ointment base is not heated above 80°C. Subsequently, stir cold. Storage notes: Use within 6 months after opening. Do not store below 10°C or above 25°C. Properties: Basunguent® has a water absorption capacity of at least 100 %.
Rowalind® Liniment
Rowalind® liniment contains ingredients that stimulate and promote blood circulation on the skin and in the underlying tissues and is used for muscle hardening, such as neck stiffness. The essential oils it contains also lead to rapid recovery in joint and tendon problems. Ultrabas®:Ultrasicc® 50:50 ointment is a semi-solid combination of a water-in-oil emulsion ointment and an oil-in-water emulsion that can absorb both aqueous and fatty substances. Both Ultrabas® and Ultrasicc® are hypoallergenic ointment bases. This mixture is particularly suitable for the care of dry, sensitive skin, and for use in cases of excessive skin reactions. At the same time, it supports the balance of the skin's natural fat and moisture levels, protecting it from damage.
